Redis (AWS ElastiCache)

Component description

Amazon ElastiCache for Redis is an in-memory data store that provides sub-millisecond latency to power web-applications. Built on open-source Redis and compatible with the Redis APIs. ElastiCache for Redis works with your Redis clients and uses the open Redis data format to store your data.

Amazon ElastiCache for Redis is commonly used as a external scalable session handler to ensure application performance while sharing session information to all application instances. When a database (e.g. Amazon RDS) is part of your infrastructure, Amazon ElastiCache for Redis is a perfect option to transient cache DB query results for faster delivery and lower database hardware requirements.
